Sidcup is located 12 miles south-east of London in the borough of Bexley. The area is close to the open countryside, has great schools and convenient transport links.

Sidcup is home to several well-known national supermarket brands including Morrisons, Waitrose and Co-op as well as local newsagents. The area also consists of barbers, hair salons, local bakeries, a library, medical practices and restaurants of all cuisines. The majority of these are located around Station Road and in the town centre. Additionally and conveniently, near the town centre is Queen Mary’s Hospital, a general hospital.

The large variety of schools available makes Sidcup an attractive area for families. There are primary, secondary, grammar and independent schools, with the option for girls only or boys only schools.

What’s there to do in Sidcup?

With plenty of green, open spaces in Sidcup, catch some fresh air at Avery Hill Park, Foots Cray Meadows or Lamorbey Park where you’ll find a picturesque lake. For keeping fit, Sidcup’s Leisure Centre serves the community with a wide range of health and fitness activities. Inside the centre, there is a pool, gym and sports hall.

Around Sidcup, there are many pubs to pick as your new local – view Live Sport or wind down at a trendy gastropub. For eating out there’s a vast option to suit your taste buds, choose from Turkish, Japanese, Italian, Indian and more or if you want a night in, the area has many takeaways to order from.

What travel links are there?

Sidcup has great travel links and is very popular for commuters with quick, easy access to London. Train lines serve Charing Cross, Hither Green, Greenhithe and Dartford. Alongside trains, there are excellent bus links, offering routes to nearby areas including Eltham, New Eltham, Greenwich, Bexley Village, Bromley, Bexleyheath and Thamesmead.
